West Hollywood moves to Ban Dogs; Cats Strike

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. —  The vote to ban the sale of dogs and cats in this famously liberal enclave will likely have more bark than bite, since no pet stores in the city currently sell animals.  Seems silly to outlaw something that already doesn't happen.  What do you think?

I think we should talk about this weekend's Winter Guard Contest at Cypress Lakes HS.  So here we go:

4:00 am  Meet at KHS and load bus and truck
4:30 am  Leave KHS (stop en-route for breakfast)
8:30 am  Arrive and check in
8:40 am  Change into costume
9:00 am  Warm Up
9:40 am  Move to Timed Warm Up
9:48 am  Timed Warm up
9:57 am  Ready Line
10:00 am Performance Time
11:20 am Retreat
12:00 pm Go to eat lunch at Katy Mills Mall
3:30 pm  Leave for KHS
6:30 pm Arrive at KHS

Make sure you have everything you need to perform with you and bring money for breakfast and lunch.

We will have rehearsal Thursday morning at 7 am.  If we are all here and ready to go by 7:15 am then we will not practice on Friday.  We will practice Friday after school to get a go run of the timing in.
So, to review:
Thursday 7am (if everyone is on time and there no practice Friday Morning)
Friday 7 am (if not everyone is there on Thursday)
Friday AFTER SCHOOL

Week of February 8th and 15th

I will be gone starting Wednesday for the Texas Music Educator's Conference.  There will be morning rehearsal on Thursday, Feb 11th and Friday, Feb 12th.  Ms. Brown will be there for rehearsal.  If everyone is there on Thursday and things go well Ms. Brown can choose to cancel Friday’s rehearsal.

During class on Wednesday - Friday:  There will be a sub for the class.  Officers will run rehearsal.  Work on cleaning the work. Checking hands and feet placement.

Monday, February 15th 9am  - ****VERY IMPORTANT*****
Rehearsal and painting.  Everyone is to bring a paint roller and/or brushes and paint pans.  Also if you have old sheets or tarps to put under the boxes as we paint them.

The show is going really well.  I am very excited to see what the judges will think of the show.

The first guard member to come to Ms. Hench or Ms. Brown with the correct answer will win a prize.

Important Information

Greetings!  I hope everyone had a super weekend.

Here is this week's rehearsal schedule.
             Tuesday, February 2nd at 7am
             Thursday, February 4th at 7am
             Friday, February 5th at 7am

It is very important for everyone to be at all rehearsal.  We are making alot of changes and it makes it easier for everyone if we are all there.
Please understand if a guard member continues to miss rehearsals I will have to cut them out of the performance show.  It is not fair to the guard members that are at all the rehearsal.

Here is the schedule for the next week.
               Monday, February 8th at 7am
               Tuesday, February 9th at 7am
There is no morning rehearsal the rest of the week, I will be at TMEA (Texas Music Educators           Conference).

I would like to have a rehearsal on Monday, February 15th from 9 am to 10 or 10:30 am.  Then I would like to paint the floor and boxes.
Here are some of the supplies that we will need to paint.
1.  old tarps that we can use to cover the gym floor and place under the boxes as we paint them.  There are 9 boxes.
2.  Paint rollers and brushes
3.  Blue painters tape
4.  Paint pans

If any parents would like to help with the painting or help with purchasing the paint and/or additional supplies, just email me at tammy.hench@killeenisd.org.

Also, I should be receiving the fabric this week for the flags and customs.  I will be making them, if anyone has sewing experience and would like to help sew or cut out things just email me at tammy.hench@killeenisd.org

Hope everyone has a great week!
